The Russ Family brings over 100 years of experience in the Art & Antiques industry. The majority of our inventory is directly curated from local New England estates. Our shop offers a diverse collection of home furnishings & accessories, antiques, and art.
Our history goes back to Paul Russ’s great grandfather Albert Perkins, operating as a country auctioneer conducting estate auctions out of the Jordan Village section of Waterford from 1905 though the 1970’s.
Paul’s mother, Diana Russ, continued conducting estate auctions, and using her grandfather’s auction barn as an antique shop. She applied a unique business concept, her store was open only on Fridays - with no exceptions. As a result, long lines welcomed new arrived inventory. She purchased entire estates, offering a wide variety of items from true antiques to common household goods. She operated her store through 1997.
Paul and his wife started Russ Antiques & Auctions and continued conducting auctions in the shoreline area from the late 1990’s to the early 2000’s. They also focused on estate appraisals and estate sales.
As a continuation of that business, Russ Antiques & Auctions added a brick and mortar location on Route 1 in Old Saybrook, CT with Paul’s daughter Amanda Russ Boehm.
Paul and Amanda operate Vintage Home Decor and offer a wide array of estate appraisal and consignment services. In addition to offering our consignor clients’ inventories in our store, we offer most of these items through several online distribution channels, including Ebay, Chairish, and our online store vintagehomedecorstore.com
Our modern electronic consignment system allows every consignor the ability to see not only the status of every one of their items in our inventory but also the accumulated cash due to them, and payout details.
For our consignors, our history demonstrates our expertise and earns your trust. For our customers, our experience provides you with clear honest descriptions of every item we sell.
Vintage Home decor is truly a multigenerational family business.
